When you save "view the camera display" do you mean using the computer as a viewfinder to see what the camera sees as it is recording or do you simply want to see pictures and video from the camera? "LiveView" threw me off a bit because Sony actually has a device called "LiveView" (http

You need to use the video out on the camera to send images from it directly to a display. You can use a USB cable but that only sets up a data connection.
