Somewhat portable laptop.

A few hours. Does not really matter.

MS Word & web browsing.

Anything over 250GB will do.

School laptop for my mom. Does not need to be powerful. Just simple and convenient.
Here is a two things I have looked at. BTW the cheaper the better but it needs to be sleek and user-friendly. Also I would like to have multiple options. So I just show her, "Here are some good laptops. Which do you like more?".
