Hey there.
I was hoping someone here could help me out.

Last week i purchased a brand new Samsung TV (model UE40F8005) from my local electronics store. Afterwords i went to visit a friend of mine for a couple of hours, and when i got back out the rear window was smashed and the TV along with my car-stereo was gone.
He lives in a bit of a rough part of town, but still..

I called the police obv, but it didn't seem like this would be something they would care to spend a lot of time on. They also seemed to not really believe me about me having a rather expensive brand new TV in the back of my car.

I called the company that sold me the TV and they have a bit of info on it. They have the serial number, model number and so on.

Is there any way for me to track my TV? Im tempted to just show up on their doorstep with a bat or crowbar if that's what it takes..

Solution
As far as tracking it online, there is no way that I know of. If you know the serial number and can prove ownership (you have the receipt), the best you can do is give that information to the police and hope the thieves attempt to sell it at a pawn shop.

Hi again.
I do have the receipt and i called and gave the serial number to the police yesterday. hopefully they can do something with it.

As for insurance im afraid i don't have anything more than the normal warrenty from Samsung.
I guess i'll just have to wait then and hope the thieves are stupid enough to try pawn it.

I was hoping the newer Samsung TV models had some sort of online-tracking, through an installed app or something.

Anyways, thanks for the answers.

As said above you can't do jack sh!t about it being stolen besides tell the police so they can log it.

however. Your home or car insurance MAY cover it. And many credit cards also have some sort of protection. So look into those.

Honestly if you left you car unmonitored in a bad part of town... With a brand new TV in the back. Even if they do cover it. I pray you are not on my insurance company. I hate paying for other peoples stupidly

It's not really a "bad part" of town, it's just more an area with old/cheap houses where alot of jobless people live. I've parked there for days with other stuff in my car without it ever being an issue.
Anyways, thanks for calling me stupid, feels really great.

If your TV is a smart TV you can request samsung to give details on the IP address the TV with your serial number has logged in and the time of the log in.Then you can find the location or even the address of the place where the TV has been used by contacting the ISP of that IP address.
But this info will not be disclosed unless you have a registered police complain or you can just ask the cop to do it .
