Was watching videos on my laptop as well as doing school work on my Acer Aspire 5250-series when it abruptly cut off. It will not power back on and the charger was plugged in as well at the time. I thought it might have been the charger because the power light on the charger would cut off immediately after I plugged it into the computer's charger port. I went up to radio shack and got a new universal charger and plugged in the appropriate tip and the same thing with the light happened. The computer isn't acknowleding the charger being plugged in (usually indicated with an orange light next to the power light; blue light). Not sure what to do now and I need help fast cause I need my laptop for school work.

That doesn't sound good. If it wont run off of battery power or AC, Id say one of 2 things happened. Either it got too hot and fried the motherboard, or you had a power spike and fried the motherboard. Either way is bad news.
