How Do I connect Yamaha RXV373 receiver with Laptop & Benq517 Projector?

Hi Guys,

I have Yamaha RXV373 Receiver & Benq517, Yamaha has HDMI Ports & Benq has VGA & HDMI ports.

how do i connect them together so that If i need to play from Laptop, I get sound from Yamaha receiver 5 channel audio & video on benq517?

Laptop has vga & hdmi both, when I connect both, HDMI to Yamaha & VGA to Benq, it doesnt give me sound in Yamaha

any advice will be appreciated.

From the laptop if there audio out port for speakers or a line out audio. Pick up a stearo mini din cable go from the laptop to aux or phono input to the reciver.

Just click on picked as a solution to close the question out. Most gamers use audio recovers for high end gaming rigs so they run a long patch cord from the sound card to there reviver.
