So, I am getting a gaming laptop for my Bar-Mitzvah. I need to have a laptop to bring with me to places, so no desktop. My budget is 2,500. I like the Razer Blade, but it doesn't have enough storage and has no ports. I can't find any other laptops. And no, I WILL NOT GET AN ALIENWARE! Do you guys know about any 14 inch or 15 inch gaming laptops? I want at least a 760m GPU and Intel i7 Haswell. I do want to to be pretty portable. So less than 1 inch thick and under 7 pounds would be great!

MSI make a GE40 and Gigabyte have the P34G. Both are marketed as "thin and light" gaming laptops.

Just to be sure, is the budget in USD (guessing from the use of pounds and inches)?

You may also find some luck in the OEMs who custom build laptops based off clevo models. However I don't really know the good custom builders anywhere outside of the UK so you may have to invest a little time into researching these.

There are few 14" laptops I consider "gamers" (even those billed as gamers) but you might check out this link http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-laptops-ct-95_51_147.html I will suggest checking out the 15.6" models also as they can provide better cooling for a more potent graphics card like this model http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8265s-clevo-p150sm-p-6200.html which features either the 780M or the 8970M (which are the top of the line mobile graphics) which is still in your budget and exceeds your weight target by very little.

Here's what I would do with that budget at XoticPC - starting with the 15" Sager/Clevo model I linked (base price $1454), customize with the following
1) Change CPU to: 4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4800MQ (2.7GHz - 3.7GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache) (SKU – SPU202) ( + 185 )
2) Add: 120GB Crucial M5 mSATA SSD - Preconfigured as an OS Drive ( Operating System – Drive C: ) ( + 150 )
3) Add: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (64&32-Bit CD Included (Supports up to 16GB of RAM)) + MS Office 2013 Trial ( + 95 )
Total of $1921 without discount (or more customization if wanted)

Cool. I have looked at Xotic before and they are a great company. On another note, I havn't been that fond of Clevos and Sagers. They all seem heavy and bulky on heavy review and unboxing I watch of them. Are there any others that you know of?

Problem is that you cannot have a powerful but thin and light notebook because all the extra transistors in more powerful CPUs and GPUs mean they produce more heat and that heat has to be dissipated via metal heatsinks which weigh a lot and are quite large.

I also had to google what NJ was, my first guess being North Jakota

Really? North Jakota? What the heck is that? If you live in the US you should know what NJ stands for.

It is North Dakota with a "J". And no, I do not live in the US so most of the 2 letter abbreviations mean very little to me and even if I do know what they mean, I rarely know where they are.
