Hello,
I'm trying to connect my creative sound blaster x-fi extreme to the Onkyo TX-NR 5010 with analog 3.5mm/RCA cables.

The SPDIF connection works perfect with movies but as you know games with surround sound and DTS surround music (.wav files) only play stereo due to the optical connection limitations. So I want to make it with the analog cables.

Bu it doesn't work - only the two front and the sub work. Center, and the 4 surrounds - don't.

Here is how the connection goes:

There are four analog 3.5mm. outs on the SBlaster X-Fi Extreme Audio:

1 - Front Left/Right
2 - Side Surrounds
3 - Center & Subwoofer
4 - Back Surrounds

Everything is connected as it should - with four cables. Every 3.5mm. out is going to it's corresponding double RCA in on the Onkyo. But as I said only the two fronts and the woofer work. And there is that annoying noise like distant morse code.

I'm kind of lost here. Is it the cable or anything else?

Thanks.

Thanks. I was obviously mistaken about having analog inputs. As I said: I want to use my Creative sound blaster to produce more quality sound. I can connect the PC via HDMI, but then the sound would come from the GeForce's integrated sound chip I guess, which is probably a crap compared to the Sound Blaster. Currently I'm watching/listening from SPDIF but it's limited - I can't watch 6.1 or 7.1 movies, can't play any surround games, can't listen to DTS music(.wav). But I have that feeling it's a mission impossible.
