Hello everyone,

I'm going to give an example with .pdf files.

I want to be able to download a .pdf file and firefox to automatically save the document to a definitive folder (not temp files) and open the document with foxit reader.

I can make firefox open OR save the document like I want.

What I can't do is to make firefox open AND save the document like I want.

Thank you!

:hello:

Kindly I ask your attention.

Foxit Reader will emigrate into Firefox and at 'Start' at the menubar, you can choos 'Open file' and go for a .PDF file if you like and Foxit Document Reader will open it in a Firefox Tab.

There might be addons ad Monzilla too to open/read/save PDF files.

Just go to 'Tools' at the menubar and 'Add ons', click it and Add Ons tab will be opened. From here you can search at Monzilla for add ons with PDF options. Just type PDF in the searchbar and you will find more than one.

There is one for Webpage to PDF too.

When you are interested in saving webpages on your computer, I would recogment the MAF extension, Monzilla Archieve File/Format. It really downloads the complete website (just didn't try clips and videos). And to be surten that you always will have your extensions, look for Extension backupper. Download the MAF extension and place it in the Backup folder. You can now always install the MAF extension with Firefox, by using Open file or just clicking on the extension.

Hopefully I let you known enough and that you will find the answers you seek!

Good luck and have fun doing it!

Best Regards,

I don't want it only for .pdfs, but for all files.

Also, i don't want to save webpages...

I will try to explain better: When I download a file, I want firefox to save the file AND open it with a predefined (by me) program.

I know it is possible to just save the file and i know how to do it.
I know it is possible to just open the file with a predefined (by me) program and I know how to do it.

What I don't know is how to make both things happen at the same time.

Just that.

But hey, thatnks for trying to help me :)

:hello:

Kindly I ask your attention.

Is this what you are looking for:

Save & Open

And here Open with preferly options to choos which program to use and with some presets synced or not with Windows Open with presets?

Or only Open like it is now, with settngs for saving it first or not.

While the only options at the moment are:

Save
Save As
Open (when using Open, there will be no download, so when opened it's gone)

Is that correct?

Well, I don't know either. Good question!
Why don't you contact Mozilla about it and give them your idea. You will not be the only one how would like it.

Hopefully I let you known enough and that you will find the answers you seek!

Good luck and have fun doing it!
