What kind of Audio Receiver should I use?

So, the question is pretty simple. I have 2 loudspeakers, towers. Don't know the brand as the stickers are long lost. But I know that they are 400W both, with 8 Ohm (whatever it means). And the Audio receiver that came with them fried. The question is, what audio receiver/amp should I use?

And I also think that they are White Van speakers, but I found them in my work's storage floor and my boss said I could keep them. But I'm thinking on putting them in the leisure room. So, any advice on which Audio receiver should I use??

Don't worry about that 400w claim. Few speakers at 8 ohms claim that and they are very expensive speakers, in this case it's most likely an extremely exaggerated peak power claim.

Not sure what you can get there in Cape Verde but a simple cheap name brand AVR should do just fine such as Pioneer, Denon, Yamaha, even Sony. Since you are only running 2 speakers it should put out ~100w into 2 channels which would be more than enough.
