HP Envy Dv6 725 won't run windows 7? (buying tomorrow please help asap)

Guy is selling this brand new for 500, so its a good deal, but he claims HP support told him windows 7 wont work.
Sounds to me like they are all noobs, I see no reason for this to be the case unless the laptop is outdated.

Here is another site that offers drivers, but as you'll notice there is no windows 7 support for the chipset, and the graphics card doesn't list the correct model:

It happens. Large manufacturers like that aren't interested in supporting multiple OSs for laptops. They validate what they load up works and that's what they support.

I have a laptop from 2007 that still has hosed up sound in Win 7 since it came with Vista and they didn't realease a driver.

Sometimes there are workarounds but it's a crapshoot.
