Hello, I'm going off to college in a few months and I need a laptop that I can play games on because I won't be able to use my PC anymore. My budget is $500 maybe a little more if it is really worth the extra money.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Hello, this is the laptop that is best for you.

It is out of stock right now, but it is by far the best laptop you can get at around $500.

Going up to $600 gets you pretty much the same system with better CPU.
Going up to $800 gets you a much better computer all around.

However, at $500 there isn't any laptops that have even close to the CPU and graphics performance. No laptop under $600 can match it in graphics performance, and only a few match it in performance up to the $750 price point. A few laptops have a little bit better CPU performance under this price, but they are way lower in graphics performance. I completely recommend this laptop, no matter how much you...

Thanks for the input. That's definitely a really good choice for me but I was hoping for something with Windows 7.

Honestly, I know how you feel. I hate Windows 8, but very few laptops are being sold with Windows 7 now. If you find a computer with it, chances are you will pay a similar price, and the computer will be worse in every way except that it has Windows 7.

Honestly, I think you are best off to just get this, and either talk to your University and see if they will put Windows 7 on it for you, some colleges will do this for Students because Microsoft has a thing to help Students.
Or plan B would be to get by with it for a few months until you can afford to buy Windows 7 somewhere and switch it over.

Honestly, these are your best chances cause finding a decent laptop with a good price that has Windows 7 is quite difficult anymore.
