Canon EOS20D Error 99

Solution
Sounds reasonable. It has turn out that the camera works again if patteris and memory card is taken out for a while. Never thought that lenses might have something to do with it. Thanks. I´ll try that.
From what I understand that is a non-specific error message (it doesn't tell you much). Below are a couple of links you might find useful. One suggestion is to clean the lens contacts though not with a pencil eraser as is suggested by some. Another suggestion is to remove the battery, lens and CF card. Allow the camera to sit without power for 20 minutes and then reinsert a fully charged battery. Turn the camera on and push the shutter button as if you were taking a picture. If you don't get the error message reattach the lens and insert the CF card. (Source: http://www.richardsnotes.org/archives/2005/04/29/50mm-lens-contact-points/).
