I purchased this for 650.00 and it was "CERTIFIED" directly from a Sony Outlet. AKA refurbished. Was this a good deal? I will be using this for some photo editing, possible video editing and school.

Sorry, but no this is a bad deal. For around $650 buy laptops tat outperform this in every way that are brand new. For $530 there is an excellent one that has just a slightly lesser processor and better graphics. For I think it was $700 even there is one with a significantly better processor and similar graphics.

Being refurbished, having an Ivy Bride CPU, and having been used before it has some wear on the parts already. It might last you for what you are wanting to do for quite a while, and it will perform pretty well, but at its price it simply is a bad deal.
