How to reset my toshiba laptop when my zero button does not work?

I need to reset my Toshiba laptop to factory settings, before I can send my computer to Toshiba to get fixed. I have looked u how to do so but everything says to hold down the zero button while restarting, but my problem is my keyboard isn't working. So is there another way to reset other than holding down zero?

I am not real sure why they would request the machine to be in factory settings. If you are referring to the BIOS being reset, then you should be able to do it with the mouse provided of course you could hit whatever key you need to get into BIOS. If you can't, dont worry about it and let them deal with it.

If you are talking about Windows settings, then I would say take the drive out and dont send it. There is no reason for them to have access to it unless it is a bad drive. When I send machines in for service I do not even send the hard drive in them.

Thank you for answering skippy27. I called Toshiba and they aid to be able to send it in for warranties then it would have to be reset to make sure that would not fix the problem. Also how do you take the hard drive out of a laptop...lol

Depends on the machine. Usually there is a screw or a few on the bottom covering a plate that can be removed exposing the drive or allowing it to be slid out the side.

Being that there are so many different ways they do it for different laptops I can only suggest you go to their website or refer to your manual to find out.
