Looking for LED 3D SMART TV
Budget Around $1000

Which brand is the best so far?

What is 2D to 3D conversion? Is it when you insert a 2D movie, it turns it into 3D (random 2d channel, turns to 3d)? Or does the movie has to have 3D enable(3d movies, 3d channels)?

Personally I prefer Sony, but I believe Samsung actually manufactures Sony's panels. It really all depends on the set and your personal preference though. Samsung I've typically found to have better black levels, but LG's color accuracy seems to be better. Did you have 2 models in mind already?

Yes, 2D conversion is when the TV converts a 2D signal into 3D which could be TV, a DVD, etc. I've never cared for the effect myself and I wouldn't let that feature be a strong deciding factor.

This TV is pretty strong in features, good size, and under your budget. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7829028
