So im an architecture student, until now I wasnt allowed to use CAD programs, now that I do i need a laptop to use at school, at home I have a PC that I built some time ago (i5 2500k @4.6, 4gb RAM, 7870 HAWK, etc) that machine is what I would use for intense usage, the laptop would be just to work at school so I think it doesnt have to be that much powerful, could you recomend me something that might fit my needs? I dont know if GPUs are so important in the kind of usage ill be giving to the laptop, 2d/3d autoCAD (Im learning) and in the near future some 3d rendering programs.

Hope I was clear with my needs :wahoo:

PS: Id spend round 1000usd

You may want to look at Lenovo y510P if your okay with a little extra weight (its not too bad). 4th gen processor (good battery). Lots of ram, discrete GPU (for 3rd stuff as well as CAD). and comes in right around budget
