Hi,
My TV setup has a bit of a problem, no sound is coming through the home theatre system. I am getting very confused looking through guides online as none seem to fix my problem, so I am hoping that someone here could walk me through it.
I would also like to say that TV audio works fine, and we have been going off that ever since the HT stopped working.

So, on my TV the main things I have plugged in are an HDMI cable going off to my PVR box, another one going off to my BluRay and another going off to my HT. I also have what appears to be an "Optical" cable going to my surround sound and some red/yellow wires going to our BluRay.

We also have a button on our remote, simply labelled "C", that we our supposed to press when we want TV audio through the HT. When I press this button, the HT displays "SAT OPTIC 2". Pressing this button used to work fine, but now nothing happens except for that.

If you need anymore information, tell me and I will provide.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
G

to clarify...

it seems as if you have all inputs (blueray player and pvr) going to the tv and then an optical audio cable going out to the HT system.

the ports should be labeled "input" and "output" to help you figure out whats going on.

correct?

my guess would be that perhaps you disabled the optical output port in your televisions menu somehow.

hopefully its not a hardware problem but it could be.

-----------

what kind of HT system do you have?

is it one of those cheap HTIB units or do you have a true receiver and speaker setup?

typically i would say to route the inputs through the receiver and then passthrough the video to the tv as this is the way i personally go about it and it works very well. this only works if you have...

let us know exactly what equipment you have hooked up the model numbers should be on them somewhere. blueray should be using a hdmi cable (or at minimum composite cables) so i'm not sure why you have RCA hooked up (at least this is what it sounds like you did... not sure without more information)
