No drop, that I know of.
When I went to try hooking the laptop up to a different monitor, the laptop basically shut down on its own. Now, the laptop will try to turn on (makes booting noises and icon lights go on) but will automatically shut down after about 30 seconds.
I read on a few blogs to try taking battery out, hold starts button and then try restarting with only power cord in.
