Hello community,

My ASUS UX21A notebook fell on the ground and cracked its screen. I bought a replacement screen for it but I'm having trouble opening the monitor case. There are no visible screws anywhere and I'm afraid of tearing any of the plastic or rubber. Does anyone know how to take this apart? or does anyone have a link to a guide that can assist me in taking this apart? I've tried googling and youtubing and there is literately no documentation anywhere.

**I cannot guarantee any of this - just basing off previous knowledge**

If it's anything like ASUS' other notebooks the bezel "snap" apart. I've replaced a screen on an X401A. It was a cheap laptop for one of my kids yet it still scared me pulling it apart.

You really need something plastic to get under the ridge to start it going - don't use anything metal and be very careful as they like to put the video cable very close to the edge.

If you're that concerned you might want to take it to a repair shop..

Wish I could be more help - good luck.

Thank you for your reply, I was attempting to use a razorblade and it seemed like a bad idea, I'm glad you told me not to use anything metallic.

P.S. Ironically i'm posting from a computer repair shop where I work. I have tons of experience taking apart laptops but this case is just very scary to take apart.

Best solution I can give is watch some videos on other Asus laptops. There was at least one really good one for the X401A - I know it's not the same but it'll give you some ideas of the pitfalls that Asus has put in your way.

Good luck.
