I want a laptop mostly for gaming but also for school work. The reason I'm getting a laptop instead of a desktop is because I'll need one on the future but if I got a desktop I wouldn't have money for a notebook so I would basically be screwed.
These are my three options

ASUS K56CB-X0191 - I5 3317U, 6GB RAM, GT 740M;

- Toshiba Satellite L50-A-103 - I5 3230M, 4GB RAM, GT 740M

Samsung 350V5C-S06 - I7 3630QM, 8GB , HD 7670M

If i get the Toshiba I'll add ram soon so consider it 8gb ram. Since I'll be using it for gaming I want the best graphics card and that's why I don't really want the HD 7670M because it's weaker than the GT 740M

Based on the specs and specs only, I want the toshiba because it has a better processor than asus and better graphics card than Samsung, which would be better for gaming, but I heard that with Toshiba laptops, the drivers have to be downloaded from toshiba website instead of nvidia, and they're outdated. Is that true?

not sure about the drivers. I don't see why you couldn't DL them directly from the Nvidia site, since they are the ones manufacturing the graphics cards.. But anywho, if I were you I would get something with an AMD processor, but thats just personal opinion. Between the three tho I would go with the Toshiba and add the ram. I would imagine it would do good for school and gaming.

Well I saw on a thread of another website where a dude was having trouble installing nvidia drivers where it would give him an error saying hardware wasn't compatible. The two answers he got were pretty clear and they said that toshiba laptops have trouble installing the drivers provided by nvidia would not be compatible due to the fact that toshiba modifies the card and makes it be like one of their own and drivers from toshiba are the only ones that work. I'm actually excluding the toshiba option since people said it has integrated battery... that would ruin the whole idea of gaming because i dont want the battery on most of the time, if these things come to be true im not getting it.

Between the ASUS and Samsung which one would you get? Samsung has a much better processor ( quad core) and more ram but has a weaker GPU. ASUS looks very good to my eyes but lacks processor power, having a better card for gaming. If the card from samsung is switchable, I'm getting it
