Can I upgrade the graphics card and processor in my laptop

I currently have a HP Pavillion g7-1340dx Notebook PC, and I would like to know if there was any way I could upgrade my laptop.
(I have already asked HP and they said it is impossible, but I would like to know if it can be done by having a hardware professional replace the current processor and graphics card.)

you can always upgrade a cpu, you just have to identify the type of cpu it is, (the socket type) download cpuid and see which it is. But graphic card are harder, you have to know what kind fits with width and whether or not it will fit on the mobo.

On a laptop:
CPU, sometimes.
GPU, almost never. There are a few lines of laptop designed to have the GPU be replaced. An HP is not one of them.

It's not merely a case of unsoldering the existing GPU and soldering a new one.
Does the rest of the motherboard chipset support a different GPU? No.
Is the cooling design ready for a different one? No.

This is one of the tradeoffs you accept when buying a laptop. Portability vs upgradability.

And there is no way to put a desktop size graphics card in a laptop. There is no slot for it.

honestly, i dont know anything about upgrading gpus for laptops, because i think that each laptops gpu is custom because each laptop size is different. Some are thinner or thicker, some longer or shorther. But with cpu, thats easier. you have to find out you socket type. download cpu id, its free. then tell me what kind it is. When you download it, run the program and look for technology. When you find that tell me what it says next to it.

probably not, because the haswell came out after your laptop, and the haswell is a different socket. your motherboard wont support it because the socket isnt supported. I have the same socket, and im running a pentium. so, no it wont work
