Hi, I need help choosing a gaming laptop under 1500$. Since I'm a student portability is a must for me. I would prefer a laptop under 10 pounds.

I would be playing games like Skyrim and Batman Arkham City and Asylum. I would like to run these games on max settings, and Skyrim Heavily modded.

I need it to last a couple hours without a charger for classes and travel but not too long (2-3 hours). HD display is a must. Backlit keyboard is a must, also I would prefer if it wasn't a chichlet keyboard ( Soft keys). I am leaning towards the Alienware Mx17 R4. Thanks in advance for any help!

I purchased this last month and really like it =

I added 16GB of ram and a Sandisk Extreme 240 GB drive and this thing is fast! I simply swapped the SSD with the 750GB drive and re-installed Win 8 on the new drive (I booted up the laptop and created the Restore Media so I could use it to do the OS reinstall). Also, I removed the 750gb drive as the laptop would not find the SSD in the second drive bay. The RAM and SSD drive was $300 and the laptop was $1000 at the time. So for $1300 I have a similarly spec'ed laptop that matches a $2200 Alienware laptop. It boots in about 16 seconds and is fast at everything it does. I know Toshiba does not have the same brand...

I know Toshiba does not have the same brand loyalty/name as other "high end" laptops, but I really can't see why I should spend so much more for the same hardware. My 2 cents.
