I did as much research as I could do on the subject but sometimes its just better to actually ask someone.

I just bought this and it'll be my first laptop. I'm hoping to do some gaming on it but I really don't know much about the gpu or how APU handles a dedicated GPU. Willl the card run in crossfire with the APU? What kind of framerates should I expect to see? Does this seem like a decent laptop for the price? Also, whenever I save up the money, is upgrading to an SDD pretty straightforward? Would I just replace the HDD with the SDD and format and be done? Thanks in advance guys!

well the only thing I can say to you is that it is a really good laptop for it's price...you should expect playable framerates even on the latest games...maybe not with the graphics at maximum but...it's a laptop! :)
Also, I don't see why you should upgrade to an ssd...I mean, yeah, it is going to be a lot faster, but I wouldn't recommend to anyone to waste money for a laptop. Except If you don't like desktops and you are going to do everything on that... :D

If you are planing to do some gaming buy a laptop cooler:no:.(DO THIS FIRST ITS VERY NECESSARY)

The APU does this by switching the dedicated graphics card and the on-board graphics card :p
i,e when you are playing games(or something that uses more graphics) the system switches and uses the dedicated amd card when you are not doing anything that use much graphics the on-board gpu is uses(this is done to save battery since the dedicated card uses more energy)
(PS-you can force the system :( to use any card of your choice as your primary gpu but its best to let the system decide)

And IT WILL NEVER RUN IN CROSSFIRE! THAT'S ABSURD!(Do some more research and you will find out so :D)

to get frame rates install FRAPS
Buying an ssd is recommended since it will decrease the boot up time very efficiently
Take our the hdd in you laptop and replace it with the ssd and buy an enclosure and use the laptop's hdd as external drive
Just install windows on the ssd and use the laptop's hdd as external drive

Thanks! I'll look into getting a cooler asap, and thanks for explaining how it handles dual graphics! I have fraps and was basically wondering about the 8750m in terms of performance, I can't find ANYTHING online abuot it! I know that its basically a 7750 but there's still not much gameplay to be found. Would it stand up to battlefield, crysis, or anything needing any amount of power? Sorry for so many questions, I know a bit about computers but not much about laptop hardware and I'm not finding anything useful! Thanks a ton Yadhu!

Thanks for the reply, I don't necessarily need top performance but I wanted something that would play some games while I'm going to be without a desktop. It will be my only pc until I build a new one :( I'm going to give my current HP to my mother to stop her nagging about fixing a 10 year old Dell, and unfortunately I've sold the one in my cpu-z sig a few years back

Graphic/games, For laptops pretty good as it is a Class 2 GPU. For approx FPS for many games (at given reolutions SEE - Just schoot down and games listed on left side:

ON SSD's They will not increase FPS, BUT Sure and the Heck make the Laptop seem peppy.

SSDs - All my systems know use ad SSD, 3 desktops and wo laoptops.
1) Samsung 840 Pro is about the best:
.. Performance wise do NOT go by synthetic BENCHMARKs, there is NOT a big performance difference between the better SATA III SSDs in real life. For cost/performance the Crucial M4 and Plextor M5P are an xcellent choice.
.. For laptops the Samsung 840 Pro does have about the lowest power consumption - BUT not a real biggy probably only extends battery time by at most 15 Mins - UNLESS your heavly using the Hard dive.

.. Primarily the SSD will decrease Boot time and program load times. My Laptop w/windows 8, from time I press power on to load web page (Foxnews) is like 8 SECONDS. This is NOT from hibernation, but from a fully powered off state). The SSD does NOT:
... Increase FPS (will increase lag caused by loading a "map"),
.. does NOT improve downloading a large file from the internet,
.. Nor does it make word or excell run faster

.. It ONLY improves reads & writes to the Hard drive (20-40 times faster than a Mechanical HDD. IE access time for a HDD is around 12 millisects where as a SSD it is measured in tenths of a millisec.

A hybred HDD may be a good option.
Internal 8 Gig SLC SSD so boot time almost the same as a SSD,
coupled with 750 gigs for storage space.

PS IGNORE the comment "There is a upgraded model of this item, go to the newer item" It is for a 1 TB (more space) but slower drive (5400 RPMs)

On Laptop coolers:
Performace depends a lot on cooler make mode and LAPTOP DESIGN.
.. Have vent holes in the bottom of laptop, general a cooler is benificial. Mine has no holes on the bottom and uses two side vents - Cooler not much help - does cool the bottom, but inside the laptop the cooling effect is strickly from convection.
.. WILL NOT compensate for poor thermal design, NOT to say your's has poor design you would need to research and see if other users indicate a heat problem
