Hello, all. I just signed up, and I would like to request your help. I'm an 18 year old who is starting college at the end of this month. I would like to buy a laptop, but I don't have a lot lot of money. The good news is that I don't need it to do a whole lot, so pricey features won't weigh me down when I buy something.

My first question is whether or not refurbished laptops are OK to buy, specially since it's straight from the manufacturer?

Basically, would this laptop do what I need it to do?

Price is $350 with free shipping. I think this would be a safe and quality college laptop purchase for me, but I wanted to check with people who would know more first. I don't see why it would be a bad idea coming straight from Toshiba, but I figured I would ask.

Thanks for your help.

Well you have 90 days to return the laptop if something its wrong, but they wont give you back your money, they will try to fix it and send it back to you, as i see it, their warranty sucks big time. What its your budget i mean the laptop you are suggesting its 359, how much can u spend? were do you live and what will you do with the laptop just browsing, movies and office?

That pretty much is my budget, unfortunately. That's why I was so pumped to see them selling it for that price. I've only ever heard great thing about Toshiba Satellite laptops. The only thing I consistently hear is that maybe they don't get the best battery life, but that won't bother me much. And yea, I'll be using it for surfing the net, homework, word processing, watching movies, listening to music, and other college student activities of that nature.

Thank you for your response, chulex67.

you are not gonna get any new laptop without windows 8, all big companys, HP, DELL, ASUS, LENOVO, MSI,etc, are selling their new laptops with Windows 8, What you can do, its Downgrade to windows 7, its really easy and you can do it yourself.
