Try the Genius Cavimanus I use them and they are super comfortable + a nice thing about them is they have an amazing volume capability.

They can literally be so loud that you can put them on the ground and use them as stereo speakers (I would recommend not doing this as they aren't meant for it and would probably blow out after a week or a month of being abused like that)

I use them on probably 5-15% volume if I had to guess and they are very good. A few specs are:

Digital 7.1 so it's not true 7.1, they are also USB headphones not analog based so if you have a sound card you cannot utilize it with them.

They have this vibration technology built in that really adds to the bass of explosions, movies & dance music.

Let us know what you decided on, good luck mate :)

I personally would rather buy Razer Electras. They are also unbelievably loud at 108 db(as loud as a LIVE ROCK CONCERT!) which is 20db louder than the Cavimanus(a very significant amount), super sound isolation, unbelievably comfortable with awesome ventilation, have supreme bass, 0 sound leakage, can do virtual 7.1 surround sound with razer's surround software, and are analogue so you can take advantage of your soundcard, and use them on your smartphone or mp3 player. they have an inline mic and detatchable cable. they are only $60.

does anyone know of a good one that is more focused on a more balanced sound? how loud it goes doesnt really concern me as i dont like extremely loud music and i dont like headsets where the lows and highs drain everything out. thanks in advance

The ones I have suggested are optimized for both gaming and music. They do have a balanced sound. When i say good bass, that means that they CAN have good bass, if you listen to bass heavy music. It is better to have loud headsets even if you listen softly as it typically means a very balanced sound. Again, it just means that they CAN be loud if you listen that way.

They do. It is built into the cable. However, it uses one of those new smartphone-style all in one jacks so unless your pc supports one of those jacks(very few pcs do, most modern macs support it and all smartphones(and some dumbphones) should support it), you will need a splitter cable. Razer sells one but it is a bit pricey and any one should do The razer one can be found here: http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-accessories/audio-mic-splitter-adapter-for-the-razer-electra . There is a cheaper one on newegg here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA07Y02A5359
