m17x Kingston upgrade

The Alienware M17X R2 has a PM55 Intel Chipset and an i5/i7 processor which only supports up to 1333Mhz memory bus speed. HyperX PnP is designed for Intel i7/i5 machines with Z68, Z77, and P67 chipsets as seen in datasheet here: http/media.kingston.com/pdfs/HyperX_PnP_US.pdf . Part number KHX1600C9S3P1K2/8G which you referred to does include multiple timings that may still work on your machine. Detailed datasheet here: http/www.kingston.com/datasheets/khx1600c9s3p1k2_8g.pdf . The timings used would be dependent on what the System BIOS supports. Based on system specifications it may be able to run at the 1333 low latency spec (DDR3-1333 CL8-8-8 @1.5V). This memory may work in your machine but would not be recommended as you would not get the full benefits of what it has to offer and we cannot gaurantee that it will work. We recommend part number KVR1333D3S9/4G (http/www.kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR1333D3S9_4G.pdf). This module follows the JEDEC 1333Mhz specification standard which your computer supports and will work properly.
