Okay, It started one time when I right clicked the sound properties in the bottom right corner and went to playback devices only to find that it said "No audio devices installed". The problem than started to affect other programs such as my games. But just recently I get no sound whatsoever! Upon opening Windows media player i get "Windows media player has encountered a problem". Also in Device manager there is 4 or 5 NVIDIA High Definition Audio drivers and one Realtek Driver! I have tried countless times to try and uninstall and re install the drivers but I have no luck at all! Also upon opening dxdiag I get the error message "Error: Problem getting sound info" and there are about 24 sound tabs. I run on Windows 8 x64 and I will include my dxdiag support info here.

I don't think a system restore would work for me as this issue has been around for a few months now and have not made a system restore point at all. I have scanned with a rootkit scanner and found nothing affecting the sound. I still do not think my sound card is dead because I am currently using ASIO4 ALL for my electronic music and it sounds fine. However, sound for everything else is dead... hmmmm...
