I am not sure what to take, the ThinkPad seems to have better build quality. The Acer has obviously superior hardware. Is build quality worth taking over hardware? It's a desktop replacement that I will also take to school every day, meaning school (programming stuffs) and gaming, multimedia, pretty much everything and anything.

Price is identical.

Please help me out. ^^

the next thing is the quad core vs 2 cores ofc thats alot faster ...

If you are looking at gaming performance it wont make much difference ...

but editing videos will do.

personally I prefer stronger build over specs on the road , and acer are crap plastic made and crap keyboard as well.

I d say go for Thinkpad ...

how much is your budget ?

My budget is +- 900 USD. Problem is I live in Romania and a lot of very good and cheat laptops in the US, in Europe cost double. These two are 2 of very few good options. The machine will be used at school (meaning most likely software development), gaming performance is important but secondary at best.

Another option would be a Lenovo Z500 wityh i5 or i7 QM @ 2.1 ghz with thesame specs as the rest, 8g ram and gt 740m. Same price.

take the Thinkpad , and I guess the Edge comes in colors Red Orange and Black .. if you are a Girl you will Avoid Black I guess ... but be sure about it first send them email.

I have one final problem. A lot of websites say they sell ThinkPads E531 with screens that have 1920x1080 resolution.

lenovoexclusiv.ro and the official lenovo site do not have ANY variants of this model with that resolution. All of them had 1366x768.

I can't find if this is some specific model, or those sites have stupid information written there.

WOuld love some help figuring this out, so I know where to buy this thing.

I have one final problem. A lot of websites say they sell ThinkPads E531 with screens that have 1920x1080 resolution.

lenovoexclusiv.ro and the official lenovo site do not have ANY variants of this model with that resolution. All of them had 1366x768.

I can't find if this is some specific model, or those sites have stupid information written there.

WOuld love some help figuring this out, so I know where to buy this thing.

but it is more expensive .. if you can get it is better.


Edit : Lenovo dont sell all their products online ... you can find other models outside , but must buy them from stores.

Most of them still have the GT 730M, not the 740M, and Romanian stores can be shifty or have faulty info on not-so-popular products. I wrote a message on the lenovo forums as well regarding this issue.

So what did you end up buying? i just got the e531...

I am also from Romania, and i had the option to buy in the same price lenovo y501 with gt750m. I decided to go with the thinkpad.
