I bought a Kodak m853 EasyShare 3 years back. I have not used it for a while, an year. But now I tried to charge up its Li-ion battery but the charging light does not glow. I think its battery might be dead. If I purchase one will it work?
Or ,can I do something to the old one?

As Kodak has stopped making most of its products, I can not find the battery too.

And if I buy the new one what is the procedure to handle it , to make it durable?
Thank you for the help you are going to make.

Solution
You can't really make a battery "durable", but you can make it last as long as possible by charging it properly, although that may be not good for actually using the camera, so don't worry about it and just charge it when needed.

You can find many batteries for cameras online, eBay or Amazon should have some. OEM batteries cost more but last longer than the generic ones.

You could also just try to leave it charging for a few hours and see if it works then.
