I need to get sound from my headphone amp/dac 25 feet to some speakers without losing any quality. I got these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... and the quality is terrible. What can I do?

do I understand you correctly... you're driving speakers with a headphone amp?

what equipment are you using?

Not necessarily driving them, they're old dell computer speakers and I just use a fiio 17 as my main sound card since my integrated one isn't working. The kind of cable I am using is the issue. Works fine when using a 6 inch cable.

I can also add that I notice the decrease in quality if I just hook up my headphones to the end of the 25 foot cable.

wrap it in tin foil for now and see if it helps.

the best way to do it would be to have a long usb cable so your keeping the connection digital for as long as possible and then have the dac closer to the speakers.

you could use an ethernet usb range extender and use cat 5 cable between.

or something like this might work http://www.amazon.co.uk/TRIXES-Active-Repeater-Extensio...

reduces EM interference since your basically laying down a 9 meter antennae.

you will only be able to output the windows mixer to one dac at a time unless your audio playing software supports sending audio to specific devices.

The software I use supports it.

Just got the usb cable and now the speakers are connected directly to the DAC. Audio is clear as ever. Thanks!

no worries bud, just remember dont have the output on the dac maxed, have atleast half volume and use the amp in the speakers, will sound better that way with less pre amping.
