Top two ultrabook contenders, which one wins?

Lenovo Yoga 13 (i7 3rd gen processor, 256 ssd, 4gb ram)

versus

Sony Vaio Pro 13 (i5 4th gen processor, 128 ssd, 4gb ram)

The price is about the same, which one should I get for college?

Raw Bang for the Buck: Lenovo
Portability: Toss-up, but I'm going with Sony.

Yoga for the bigger SSD, IMHO, makes more sense to me. The 128 gb SSD isn't going to be big enough, unless you are just using it for browsing and office type work. If your going to install some light games, than the bigger SSD would make more sense to me.

Is there that great a difference between a haswell i5 and an ivy i7?

For general computing needs not too much. Usually the i7 has better iGPU than the i5, but it's a case by case basis.

The Haswell i5 has much better battery life. I think CNet's review of the Sony put it at 12 hours on a video loop.

Thanatos Telos :

The Sony one only gets 12 hours if you add a battery extension to it. Alone it last about 6 hours.
