One day my acer just stopped booting. It's a 532h and worked for about a year. When the battery is in and I press the power button nothing but a blue light flashes indicating the power is on. When I remove the battery and insert just the charger and press power nothing happens.

Solution
Okay for Awkwardmarissa: a Acer 532h is a netbook and is NOT a year old, but much older (netbooks were stop being sold a couple years ago). It is not even supported (the information page has been removed) by ACER anymore (404 Page). So out of warrenty, doesn't poweron, you have a doorstop.

$300 or less get a laptop from Walmart all nice new and most of all full powered as compared to the netbook.

motinsc: Your crossing your topic with someone else's. No you can't take a password OFF a hard disk that is the point (to keep you from seeing that data). You can only WIPE the hard drive then load an OS on it.
