I have read somethings about core i5 vs core i7 and I was wondering why most so called "gaming Laptops" are forcing you to get a core i7 for gaming. Of course money, because core i7 is more expensive than core i5.But core i5 with nvidia 650m will do really good for some serious gaming like new COD or new arkham Origins. Right?

Solution
Yeah, all mobile i5s are dual-core. Think difference between i3 and i7 on desktop, plus both come comparitively downclocked. A desktop i5 would wipe out a mobile i7.

core i5s tend to be dual cores in laptop form. generally there is a pretty big jump in performance per core going to the laptop i7 over the i5... it's not like desktop where the core performance is about the same. in laptop form the core i5 is a clearly inferior chip.
