Im looking for a new headset and wondering if the logitech g35/f540 are any good since my friend is able to sell them as well as corsair products for a good price. I have read that headsets are usually overpriced and worse quality than the separate units, but is it really that noticeable when gaming? Ive been using a decent bose headphone for about 4 years now though and don't really want to notice a major decline in quality. I dont really need studio quality audio however, especially with regards to the mic, so any thoughts would be appreciated.

i think gaming headsets are overrated (that's my opinion). there isn't a ton of difference between them and regular ones. you'll have to listen very very hard or have a some sort of super hearing power or some shit to be able to discern the difference between the two as they are practically the same. not worth shelling out a few more bucks. stick with what you have now and be happy buddy :D

long story but my old ones broke :p so I need new headphones, was just thinking it would get a mic at the same time since ive been needing one, and it just seems simpler to get them together rather than having different products. So im trying to find out if either of those options are okay, or what i should be looking at. Tbh i dont mind spending a little more to avoid having a separate mic, but then i still want decent audio.

oh i see. since i use logitech's speakers, i'm compelled to give you a very biased opinion and go for logitech's g35 headset :D

i don't know but maybe you should read consumer reviews about it if it is sturdy just to be sure.

Well, you don't need to splash out tons of money on a gaming headset. I have a pair of Turtle Beach x12's I picked up for 20 quid a year ago. Still work fine and are very good quality. I don't really game much, I mainly use them for talking to my mates over the Xbox and sometimes on the pc. Overall, I'd say the x12s are worth it considering they're fairly in-expensive :)
