Camcorder vs Surveillance Cam to Broadcast live

Hi there,

I'm not 100% sure if this would be the right sub-forum to post this, but I was looking to see if I could get some advice or tips..

Here's what I'm trying to accomplish.

I need to try and broadcast a class/lecture live from one room to a tv located in another room.

I would like to have 2 cameras mounted at the back of the room.

Camera #1 Pointed at the teachers podium
Camera #2 Zoomed in towards the whiteboard

Ideally I need a permanent solution, which is quick to setup at the begining of each class. Maybe the cameras can be continuously streaming, and all that would be needed is turning on the tv.

Or by using a survaillance camera system, that simply needs to be powered on, and will be live, right away.

I'm not sure if that makes sense.. but I'm wondering if it would make more sense cost wise, and functionality wise to use 2 x Handycams mounted, or a 2 Channel Surveillance camera system.

If anyone as has any input, tips, or advise, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Depending on the brand and model of the surveillance the quality is likely to be lower than that of the Handycams. Do you already have the Handycams? If yes, which model(s) do you have? If no, which ones are you considering? Same questions about the surveillance cameras.

I have not purchased anything at all yet.

I have just started researching this topic, so I dont have any models in mind yet... The main thing for me is to try and keep the solution as cost effective as possible... as the non-profit organization i'm trying to setup for is on a shoestring budget.

So even if it were something with lower quality video output, that would be fine as long as it gets the job done.

Thanks!
