Acer Aspire D257 black screen

A client brought a laptop to me recently and it was dropped. It boots up, but never displays anything on the screen. I've tried, to no avail, to flash the BIOS again and no dice.

Hooking it up to an external monitor yields no results w/ or w/o the function monitor key.

Any thoughts?

Flashing the BIOS won't fix drop damage, but if I may: how did you go about attempting to flash it (with no display)?

Have you already opened it up to check for a loose ribbon cable? The video cable may have been compromised. If it's under warranty though, doing so will most likely void it (assuming the accidental damage didn't already do that).
