I have the situation stated above.
I believe that this is a compatibility issue. Apparently some update was applied that made all of our HDMI connections to our TV's invalid. I hope that a solution arises soon to fix this issue.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. This forum is setup quite differently from other forums. I was trying to reply to another user in another thread but created a new thread somehow in the process.
Sorry again.

I was referring to users in another thread. I've recently updated my laptop and it isn't connecting via hdmi anymore. I figured it had to do with the update because I've attempted to change screen resolutions, connect my monitor via fn + f4 and other solutions as well.

@trumicah

to reply to a thread you are reading all you need to do is either type in the white box at the bottom of the post or click post an answer which is on the right just above the box which will take you to a screen with more options if you arent familiar with all of the forum tags.

what exactly did you update? windows, drivers?

fn+f4 should work but you may need to look in your monitor settings as well. perhaps you are outputting a signal but it is not at the resolution of the tv in which case the screen will remain blank.

for example if you have a 1920x1080 television and are trying to output 1280x1024 you may not see anything on the screen. this doesnt mean you arent outputting though.

generally you should default to the correct resolution but it wouldnt be the first time i've had blank screens.

also fn+f4 cycles through a bunch of display modes not just two so you may have to press it a few times. depending on how the hdmi handshake is performed you may need to turn the television on before or after the laptop as well.

get back to us on exactly what you upgraded...
