Looking to replace my present Notebook Hp dv7 pavillion 4gb ram and duo processor, its not doing the job with PS.
I have been considering the Lenovo line.
The Y510 Processor 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ Processor (2.40GHz 1600MHz 6MB) -Operating system Windows 8 64 -Display 15.6" FHD LED Anti-Glare Wedge 1920x1080 -Graphics NVIDIA GeForcE GT750M GDDR5 2GB -Memory 8.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz -Hard Drive 1TB 5400 RPM + 24GB SSD -Optical Drive Blu-ray/DVD-RW -Network Card Intel Centrino Wireless N-2230 -Bluetooth Bluetooth Version 4.0 -Warranty One year -Battery 6 Cell Lithium-Ion
What I would like is to upgrade to 16GB memory and 256SSD Also I would rather run windows 7 .
They will not allow any customazation on these. So I would have to add myself once I have it.
It comes with a haskell quad core processor which is suppose to extend battery life and run a bit faster than the 3rd generation Ivy Bridge. I have a 3rd generation Ivy and SSD drive in my Desktop and run the programs described above and would consider it quite fast and happy with it.
Lenovo says you can upgrade to 16gb and SSD, but they dont offer those upgrades in the Y, you would have to go to the W to get those upgrades. Lenovo recommends running Windows 8 with the 4th Generation Intel Core i7, as they say it was designed around that. Can I run Windows 7 ??? as I prefer to use it.
Should I be considering any other laptop/notebook manufacture also.
