Hey, I have the same laptop (Acer 4349) with an Intel B815 processor and 2 GB of RAM. I went ahead and installed an SSD on it. Easy peasy. Then I got myself some RAM and installed on my laptop. I installed 2x8 GB (DDR3 PC3-12800 GSkill). All 16 GB were recognized and used by Win 10 Pro x64 (even though Acer said that only 8 GB were to be recognized). Good. Next, I went and bought an Intel i7 processor on eBay (SR02N GENUINE INTEL CORE I7-2670QM 2.2 GHZ LAPTOP CPU SOCKET G2). I put it on and replaced the thermal paste with some Arctic Silver 5. Lucky me, it works great. I just had to update some drivers and voilá. No need to desolder anything. Just remember to unlock the socket (flat screwdriver) before trying to remove the processor.

I know that this sounds crazy, but i´m now in possession of a monster of a laptop for a fraction of the price. One more thing: This laptop is SUPER EASY to disassemble. Just remove the batery, then remove all the screws of the bottom plate, remove the disc unit and you're done. Really easy to do.

Do you have any issues after upgrade? cause i already done upgrade my acer 4349 to an i5 2450m (can't find an i7 in my place), installed 4 gigs of RAM, and SSD. After put everything on, turn it on and enter bios, it works everything detected. next is install Win 10 x64, drivers, it went well. After a while when i play with like open firefox or an application my laptop freeze even when idle, it freeze like can't do anything except pull the battery or push the power button to reset. Trying to Reinstall, replace RAM and no luck, so i assume the processor is the culprit

Nope, I've had no issues at all. Although I did replace the fan and applied Arctic Silver thermal paste to the processor because I knew that overheating would be a problem. I also installed a 9 cell battery because that i7 uses a lot of power (I get almost 5 hours using the new battery)
Maybe your problem is related to high processor temperature. The system will freeze if it is overheating.

Good luck... let me know if I can help you any further.

Tomas.

Well, the temperature does not seem the issue because it looks like my temp is normal i think, between 45c to 50c. I alreeady clean the fan and re apply thermal paste with Zalman stg2 and still no luck.
Now i will try update the bios, the newer bios changelog says updates the processor micro code, i hope it will fix the issue.

btw, how can you get 9 cell battery? the original battery was 6 cell right?

You're right, maybe the Bios is the problem. I bought the battery on eBay. Search AS10G3E 9 cell battery on eBay. This one is a little bulkier but it's worth it.
Good luck.
