toshiba satellite c850 disc drive not working at all?

i asked this on toshibas website but i figured that this would have a better shot at getting answer on here, so heres what i put. I was hearing funny noises from the disc drive so i decided to restart my laptop, and now it isnt responding to me pressing the button on the side to open, its just dead. i dont know what to do, can anybody help?

Weird its just died, possible a C850 defect. On the base there should be a screw corrosponding to the bay of the cd drive, unscrew the screw and pull the cd drive out and push it back in fully.

where is it? there are 2 near it, one right beside the top right hand corner of the drive, if you directly push the laptop onto the lid to look at it, and one to the right of it, maybe 4 cm away? ill include a pic ( http

/imgur.com/KFUJ7t4 ) and i heard it just before making a sound as if it was skipping a disc? it was just a once skip, and there isnt a disc in there, im worried as i have had a few problems with this laptop before and it is quite annoying
