Choosing a laptop for gaming/multimedia use

I was in the market for a laptop and i thought the lenovo y500 was going to be good but they have caused me so many problems with customer service and what not I feel like I should cancel my order.

Now I have done some more research and have come down to two laptops the first is the HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 Quad edition with these specs

which do you guys think is the better choice. And is there any model someone would recommend that are better than these. I'm looking for multimedia use heavy on video and photo editing and light game on steam and what not.

Price rang: $1500 and below.
