I've recently become a victim of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. The individual who is performing these attacks claims to be doing them with 3600 second intervals. In light of this, with the inability to make him stop, I purchased a one month subscription to the VPN service, HideMyAss (HMA), in hopes that if I used a proxy, the attacks would prove to be a failure on his head. Unfortunately, the attacks have some how pushed through the proxy and the DDoS attacks continue regardless. I'm curious as to if it is because he has my original IP, which the VPN relies on, or if it's me doing something wrong on my end.
When I get on the computer, I automatically launch the VPN and start using it. It says that I'm connected to the VPN, but when the attacks start I lose the connection to the VPN and it all goes down hill from there. Is there a way to prevent these attacks from occurring either through a modification of the VPN, or through different means? Thank you in advance. Your input is greatly appreciated.
