From now until this may 27th, there is a 15% off coupon for the w530 on the main lenovo site. I was wondering if I could get a better deal. I have read some older forums and people have gotten more than 300$ off. My main question is if there are better deals in the future and where can I look for them?

I am an Architecture student and my last computer has overheating problems because it was not built to handle large renderings. I use V-ray, Photoshop, Rhino 3D, AutoCAD. I will probably play many recent 1st person shooters on it and would like it to run it fine at least on medium high settings. My other question other than finding a better deal is; If the k2000m is worth the extra 250$ or stick with the k1000m and if I should pay 200$ more for FHD 1920x1080.

I want to customize the w530 with:
CPU: i7-3740QM
GPU: k2000
Res: HD+ 1600x900
RAM: 8gb

It is $1,794.00 -COUPON $269.10= $1,524.90
My ability to play games on it is not important, and my preferred price would be lower than 1200$.

It is difficult to guess if there is going to be a better deal in the future. I suppose the next "big sale" would be Father's day, July 4th, back-to-school, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgivings, Christmas. So you can expect a sale every month until the end of the year.

Also, rumor has it that Lenovo will be coming out with Haswell based thinkpads in November. So current generation might, might be heavily discounted by then.

I can't say if the K2000m is worth the extra $250 since I am not familiar with the programs you will be using.

1920x1080 resolution is definitely nice to have. I would suggest you walk into a computer like Bestbuy and other local ones to actually check what 1600x900 and 1920x1080 looks like on a 15.6" laptop. Some people think 1920x1080 makes things look too small on a 15.6" laptop.
