I have never had as much trouble with any computer product as I have with my Toshiba Satellite; I hate it. Since the day I brought it into my home, it seems to have declared war on me! The psychodrama of the absurd and meaningless F5 button freezing my pointer without my realizing it was only the beginning. Now it absoluetly refuses to obey my commands to show my work on a second (TV) screen, after having done so successfully for months. It just decided to stop working. Among countless other experiments, I hit symbol + P and choose both screens, but nothing happens. What's the problem now? Anybody figure it out yet? P.S. I won't understand much technical computer language in any explanation to help me.

Gratefully, I followed your advice, jarotech, but that did not solve the problem, all cables were plugged in properly and I don't have another monitor to try . I can't hook up to this computer - borrowed only to write this message. Now I have probably hit some button that I shouldn't have and now the screen on my computer monitor itself went completely blank (black) and I can't communicate in any way with my computer. I think I may have just commanded the screen to go blank, but I don't know how to undo that since I can't see anything on my desktop (screen)at all, just blank. Turning the computer off and on doesn't help. Originally my problem was that I couldn't get anythingt to appear on a second screen, now I can't get anything to appear on either screen! Please help! Now I'm on the road in Europe without a computer at all.

Jarotech, Thanks ten million times. You are miracle worker! I was beside myself wondering how I'd manage without my computer, but using the F2 fixed the problem. I'd still like to figure out how to get the second screen working, but I'm so relieved after having been so scared) just to have the c=screen light up again that I think I'll wait a few days before experimenting any further. Thanks another million times. Michaelauds
