Just recently my Dell XPS M1530 will show the boot up screen, "DELL XPS M1530" then moves to the login screen however, the login screen never appears. Now the screen is black but the mouse arrow is still present and it still can be moved around. I have no clue whats going on. Any help?

Sounds like either:
1. There is one or more start up items/services that are causing the login to hang
2. There is an issue with the registry
3. Possible issue related to the MBR
Are you able to boot into Safe Mode?

You might need to try a startup repair or access a command prompt using the Advanced Boot options, or by using the install disc.
With the command line, you can try: bootrec.exe /FixBoot - or - bootrec.exe /FixMbr
With the command line, you can try: bootrec.exe /FixBoot - or - bootrec.exe /FixMbr
