Hello,

My sister's Toshiba Satellite was ruined about six months ago. I decided to fix it yesterday, so I dis-assembled the laptop. The primary problem of the laptop was that it would only turn on, and would not show the BIOS Logo, only the power switch light was on. So my assumption is, that either the little chip used for the power button is the main problem. From the looks of it, thermal greasing is fine and does not need to be replaced, neither does the fan. All dust was cleared out.

So my question is, is it possible to find the power chip (under the power button) anywhere so it can be replaced?

If you think there is another problem, please let me know.

PS. The display monitor works fine, as I tested it on my friend's Satellite.

Thank You.

Yes, in fact the is working fine. I ran the computer without the keyboard and the keyboard support, and saw that the fan worked just fine.
