Laptop wireless suddenly stopped working

I woke up, turned it on, and it is saying no networks available. I plugged it into the router itself and that works just fine. The wireless button is on. I really have no idea where to go with this and any help would be appreciated.

Laptop is HP Pavilion dv6-6c40us

Have you try left clicking the internet connection in the lower right hand corner of the screen. You can run troubleshooter or network center.
It will show if the wireless in the laptop or the modem is bad.

I did run the trouble shoot which actually just suggested to plug it into the modem directly. I do live in an apartment and the wireless would always pick up my neighbors signals but nothing is coming up at all now. I am really hoping this is not a hardware issue but maybe this is the final push I need to go to a new brand.

No, if it's the wireless in the laptop just get a usb wireless adapter for $10 to 15.
