Hi guys , so just recently i was 100% ready and sure to buy one of the HP laptops with windows 7 ,because i am afraid of bad reviews and rumors about pre-installed windows 8 laptops(not able to downgrade without having issues with drivers or BIOS),Here are the specs of windows 7 HP Envy dv7t 7000 qaud edition series notebook which i was going to buy until today:

Operating system Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor 3rd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM Processor (2.3 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache)
Graphics card NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GT 650M Graphics with 2GB GDDR5 memory [HDMI, VGA]
Memory 8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
Hard drive 750GB 5400RPM Hybrid Hard Drive(there was no better choice)
Hard Drive Acceleration Cache NO mSSD Hard Drive Acceleration Cache
Display 17.3-inch diagonal High Definition BrightView LED-backlit Display (1600 x 900)
Primary optical drive Blu-ray player & SuperMulti DVD burner
Personalization HP TrueVision HD Webcam
Networking Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth(R)
Keyboard Standard Keyboard with numeric keypad

This build was going to cost me around 1140$,but today HP decided to modify Configuration for this particular model and deleted option for Geforce GT 650M 2GB GDDR5 GPU and instead left GT 630M 1GB GDDR3,which is not acceptable for me,because its too weak for my needs...

I was out of options and was going to abandon this idea about buying laptop at all,but i searched for "ready to ship" laptops and found one ,already configured ,for+10$,but with windows 8 : HP ENVY dv7-7212nr,which is way much better than previous model i was going to buy, for just +10$.

Everything is same except dv7-7212nr has GPU which i wanted to have GT 650M 2GB GDDR5 and better build:

CPU Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM (3.4 GHz/2.4 GHz ) ,
HDD750 GB SATA (7200 rpm),
Acceleration cache (32 GB Solid State Drive cache) with Intel Smart Response Technology,
Display 17.3" diagonal full HD anti-glare LED-backlit (1920 x 1080)
keyboard backlit with numeric keypad.

As you can see dv7-7212nr is way better than dv7t 7000(just for +10$) and i would buy it without any hesitation, but it comes with pre-installed windows 8 and this is what scares me...

The point is:i am OK with windows 8,i don't want to downgrade anything if windows 8 doesn't have any serious issues..I am not familiar with windows 8 ,so i don't know why people don't like it,if they don't like windows 8 just because of interface and the way u have to access files or start programs, that's not a problem for me.I understand that some programs or games wont be working on windows 8 ,but that's not a problem for me either. All i want to know is if windows 8 has some problems with pefomance or is it even better than windows 7,i just want my OS to work and function properly without problems, that's all.

Thanks in advance !!!

There won't be any performance problems. You should probably go the with 7212nr model. Unless you have a personal pet peeve with the Interface win 8 is fine (but many hate the interface).

Thanks for your reply,i was suggested by Hp to use "start8" free program ,which adds windows 7 start menu to windows 8 ,so it will make things easier...
