Hi, I was just wondering if anybody has ever purchased or is currently waiting for their Lenovo y500.
I have purchased the Lenovo y500 with the dual 750m graphics on the last day of april and was expecting it to arrive sometime in late may; according to Lenovo.
Although today they just sent me an email saying it would be delayed over an month! I was not only disappointed but also a bit angry at the same time.
Why would they give me a ship date of around three weeks and then half way through the order make a huge change.
I am thinking about canceling my order. The email said exactly this:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your recent Lenovo purchase. Unfortunately
due to overwhelming demand, we are experiencing delays in
processing shipments for your system. We are making every
effort to fulfill your order.

I looked at the link they sent me and found out that it would not be shipping until 6/25/2013 and it would not arrive until 7/2/2013!
It was originally supposed to ship 5/16/2013 and arrive 5/21/2013.
Knowing that we will see some new things at computex and knowing that haswell is going to be released soon I was wondering if I should wait and buy something else and cancel my order or should I wait it out and hope for no more delays.
I would care to hear you input. Thanks.

First suggestion.

If this is still a computer you want, call them up by phone, and ask them if really this is the best they can do, and lay down the deal that you're going to cancel your order if they can't do something about it.

If you are professional in your manner (and not just angry), you may find the squeaky wheel gets the grease and you will be able to get your computer faster.

You should wait it out. I just ordered the Lenovo y500. It has int come yet but they have relay great customer service. They probably are just having a issue getting all of there gpu's because they are one of the few laptops with the new 700's series graphics cards. The new hasswel processors really wont make a big diffidence ether all they are going to add is new intel graphics.

They are in such a high demand that Lenovo is having a hard time keeping up. They changing my shipping date also.

The shipping time is also listed as a week, but it only took 3 days from the time they shipped it. It was 25 days from the order time and until I got it in my hands.

Save $470, it was worth the wait.

The Y500 is fast and will play most games at high or ultra. I am very happy with it. Best laptop I have ever owned.

The SLI do not come with a DVD-RW. If you need one, take this time to order one. They are about $80.

lenovo has had a tremendous amount of new business, they're trying as hard as they can to keep up. even their y480/y580 series is out of stock. they're not used to such a high demand and need time to adjust, it will be worth the wait i can assure you.
