Hi,

I'm after some help regarding a new headset as I've found some but can't find anything that ticks all the boxes.

Requirements:

  • Wireless
    Good quality sound
5.1 surround sound (without losing audio quality)
Compatibility with PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 (PC has to be wireless, the consoles can easily be wired)
    Use while charging
    Under £120 ($185-ish)

Nice to haves:
7.1 (If price doesn't increase over 5.1 too much)
Wired option
Under £80 ($125-ish)

Don't needs (but don't mind at all if they're there)
Microphone (A bluetooth headset that I can plug my consoles and PC into is definitely an option)

I currently have a simple and quite old Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Soundcard - any advice on whether this is good enough would also be welcome.

Headsets I've found so far are the Corsair Vengeance 2000, which actually seems perfect but for it's lack of console support. Razer Triamat (but I've read bad things about sound quality).

I recently purchased an Afterglow headset which I really liked but it had a problem with the headset buzzing which caused me to send them back.

Any help/suggestions would be perfect, thanks!

Tactic 3d omega - this ticks all the boxes i believe. it's wireless, cross-platform, surround sound/thx support, can be used while charging, and comes in around $140 last time i checked.

i've owned them for around 18 months now and have been more than happy with their performance. wireless will never sound as good as wired, but this is one of maybe 3-4 other wireless cross-platform models that doesn't flat out suck.

the sound quality is solid and the construction is ok (all plastic but sturdy enough). aside from that, the astro a40 or a50 also meet your requirements, except in price (at $250-300 they're a bit overpriced to be honest)

good luck with your decision :)

Cheers for the suggestion, I actually went for the ASUS ROG Pro as I read great things about the sound. Sacrificed on wireless but the cable is just about long enough! Much better than my previous Afterglow headset - sound is great and the 7.1 surround is pretty nice!
